Performing the Collected Works (Abridged). Very funny, very entertaining.
At Playhouse in Overture till 12/20.
You should go.
BTW - will have the troupe on radio, 10:30 Sunday, 92.1

Agreed. People should go. Mary at the box office said it hasn't been selling well, which is a shame. Full of so many great one-liners, and it actually makes me want to see Titus Andronicus.

It *is* a very funny show but how many years have various Reduced shows played here? We've seen and enjoyed The Complete Works of Shakespeare twice as well as two of their other shows (not all in Madison). All were extremely clever with a lot of LOL moments but we've had quite enough, especially in light of how much we just dropped on Lion King tickets. I wonder if Madison couldn't stand a multi-year break from Reduced anything in order to get the interest back up. I'd hate for such an enjoyable show to become another Four Bitchin' Babes, which has the "honor" of being the go-to example used by those who complain about Overture's sometimes lame scheduling.

I agree -- though I hadn't seen the Complete Works before, I know they're a returning act. It feels so SAFE. (I'm also annoyed we didn't get In the Heights or Spring Awakening, but that's another story.)

From Overture, which Rob sent simply to satisfy my idle curiosity:

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago/ 24th presentation since 10/6/84
The Second City/ 13th presentation since 12/3/82
Four Bitchin' Babes/ 11th presentation since 1/30/99
Pilobolus/ 5th presentation since 10/21/81

And this is the 15th season that the Capital Steps will come to Madison.

Rob C at Overture said people love their old stand-bys, and I think he's right, to a degree. But the RSC isn't selling well. But then, it's the holidays, and tickets are $26-36.
