I am such a nerd. Been trying to get on the HNS site all day to buy tix...but today is the day they re-vamp their website. After a phone call to HNS, a re-direct to True Endeavors, and the re-emergence of the HNS website, I still can't get tickets.

Oops, just got through.

I'm also listening to Austin Lucas - Somebody Loves You at the moment. I found myself in the mood for acoustic alt-countryish songs today, which has included:

Chad Price - Smile Sweet Face
Patterson Hood - Killers and Stars (I haven't gotten Murdering Oscar yet, but I've heard it's good)
Tim Barry - Manchester
Ben Nichols - Last Pale Light in the West
Justin Townes Earle - Midnight at the Movies

I have been really enjoying the recent collaboration between Del the Funky Homosapien & Tame One entitled Parallel Uni-Verses. Del has risen to the top of my personal hip-hop pyramid over the years, and Tame One is an excellent co-pilot for this mission.

Amplifier - Eternity and Amplifier - Insider.

If you can deal with the heavy british accent, these guys are sweet as hell. Sort of like a Cave In from across the pond.

I'm discovering all the Gorillaz B-sides, remixes, and live versions. There's a lot of great stuff--some totally straight reggae, dub, pop, and their unique brand of hip-hop. But it all sounds like Gorillaz.

In heavy rotation at the Vilas manor is a homemake cd mix of Hawaiian songs that was given to us on our recent trip to the islands. It includes everything from Pineapple Princess by Na Leo Pilimehana, Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Iz to Tiny Bubbles by Don Ho. Hawaiian schmaltz at its finest.
