Taco Heaven

Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

As in the sticky icky?
This adjective is used for food?

Yes and yes! Not the first time I've seen it, too.

juanton, thanks for the correction. Obviously, I'm not a [s]bowler[/s] smoker.

I use it for damn near anything that is of top quality. Like the Dank coffee I had this morning or the Dank ass beer Lake Louie makes.

I wrote a pretty scathing email to the owner letting them know how bad I thought it was. They quickly responded and were very apologetic. They said they taste tested what I had eaten and agreed that it was very poorly prepared. They also invited me in to speak about the food and give me my money back. I will say they scored points with customer service.

It'll be a tough sell on their part to get me to eat there again although.

I was one of the lucky folks got that free shot. Hell, a good percentage of Le Chateau had to get that shot. The food there was better than the blue spaghetti dinners going around the co-op. Plus, that shot was the closest any of us got to healthcare back then.
I was sort of excited for Taco Heaven in theory but haven't gotten down there since it opened.
I'll try any new place downtown once.

I ordered lunch today for 8 people and it was great. I called at 10:45, knowing that their listed opening time was 11 am, and they still answered the phone and took my order. I requested an 11:45 delivery time, and this was the only part that did not go so well as they were 20 minutes late with the delivery due to difficulties finding our location. The delivery person was very apologetic and discounted our meal because of the late delivery - customer service at its' best! Also, the food was still minimally warm, so I expect it would have been just right if the delivery had been on-time. Three of us tried the king-sized taco (in a queen-size) with ground beef and shredded cheese and it was the ultimate in comfort food - good flavor without being overly spicy and plenty of it. Another person in our party ordered the California Gold burrito and commented that the vegetables were very flavorful. The Maui Waui Wrap and the jalapeno poppers with cream cheese also received good reviews. Despite the late delivery we will definately give them a second chance. :D

Well, if a first-time poster creates an account to come in here to write a glowing review of the joint, that has to be worth taking at face value!

No, he means he ate it while lying on his queen size bed.

Dank nachos. Maui Waui wrap. California Gold burrito.

I'm noticing a theme.

So I guess pot smoking has officially jumped the shark?

Just noticed the other night that this place actually delivers all the way out to me on the West Side, so naturally, I had to give'em a shot. Didn't try the tacos -- I went with a burger and a Chicago Dog. The burger was pretty meh and slathered in enough mustard and mayo for 3 sandwiches (more glad than ever I ordered it w/o ketchup.) But honestly, for a cheap ($4) late-night delivery, it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. The real travesty was the Chicago Dog. The ingredients were ok, including a poppy-seed bun and everything, but the freakin' dog was grilled. GRILLED!

I'd like to say I'll never order from them again, but of course, I'm lazy, and delivery options on my side of town are slim, at best...
Basically what I'm saying is, you have to be as bad as Gumby's before I won't order from you drunk, at 1AM.
