Unfortunately the spammers agree with you.

The message I get from the spam build-up is - only Forons log in on weekends anyway so what's the big deal?

They check in on a regular basis, so why not give a couple of trusted forons the ability to patrol the neighborhood when the sheriff has the weekend off?

Deputy Joe. Only gets one bullet.

Nice, one, Dust Mite!

That list--snoqueen, Hank, and Walter--is pretty much what I would choose too.

So what about it, Jason?

The group of people who are responsible for deleting posts is necessarily small. And paid.

I could cover the Town Vibe since I'm the only one that's ever there.

I'm with Henry. This should be a paid job, if only because whoever does it can then be fired if s/he doesn't do it right.

Like I originally said, but maybe didn't articulate effectively, what is wrong with giving a limited delete authority to a couple of trusted long-term forons? We all trust the forons I mentioned previously, and jjoyce isn't always patrolling the TDPF neighborhood on the weekends, so why not let them have the ability to lock and delete obvious spam posts that seem to pop up like a bad outbreak of herpes every weekend? Think of it as a cyber neighborhood watch program. It's obvious the paid employees who are in charge of sorting out the litter are not able to keep up with the task. Why not give a few trusted, who value the forum, the ability to help keep it clean?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Scoop. Or something similar. With it, we can police ourselves.

The longer I think about the idea to let Henry Vilas, Walter, and me delete stuff off the Forum the funnier it gets. You guys are asking for your parents and a cop to tidy up your on-line world for you? I am not sure if this is unintentionally insightful or what.

Good enough. You always make sense, and anyone who wants to fish off the Edgewater pier is fine with me.

It was just a thought. I will not bring it up again.

Not to worry -- I wouldn't delete your stuff.

Just the Cortez/Carol matrix, and a few other lunatics.
