You mean shots are not fired on Willy Street nightly?!

Maybe there's a nightly practice at Grampa's Gunshop...
Damn, I was going to poke fun with that headline too...
I'd expect this from Madison Newspapers...
What am I going to read for desert?...

One day, a historian who loves attention as much as Stu will remember Stu's history-making whining about this feature not being updated to his liking.

Although I also think it's odd that Isthmus doesn't see fit to update or delete the Miscellany feature, it's even more baffling that Stu keeps going to a page which his tender sensibilities find so offensive.

Stu- there's nothing on the page with Miscellany that cannot be accessed easily in another manner. You can get to The Daily links from the drop down menus at the top of any page. So if you'd just stop visiting the page that features Miscellany, you'd never have to see it again (I didn't even know that feature existed until you started complaining about it.) It's like clicking on a porn site and then complaining there's pictures of naked ladies. Just stop looking!

If you're still baffled about Stu's narcissism and delicate sensibilities, you haven't been paying attention. Dude loves himself and his pronouncements. In fact, he frequently perceives himself as some sort of elevated "public" being. I'm surprised he hasn't moved to San Francisco and started his own church yet; Stu's Church of Appropriateness.

The best anyone can offer Stu is, take his mic and loudspeaker away. He is addicted to the amplification of his opinion that they provide.

Stu is a public figure, at least here in Madison, and I value his opinion on a good many things. But he's a smart enough fellow that he ought to know better than to keep going someplace he knows will bother him.

A disciple has spoken. Does he tell you what you want to hear?

It doesn't surprise me that Stu keeps going back to it, I do too.

MM was a great feature when they kept it up to date. I'll check it from time to time in the hopes that it's started up again.

It's not like they're running the same "Tell All" over and over again.

We miss it and we want to see it resurrected. But if that's not going to happen just kill the damn thing.

Maybe nothing newsworthy has happened. Ever think of that?

Most interesting Madison happenings pop up on here too and unless you're somehow still interested in The Edgewater saga, pickins are pretty slim.

I liked Madison Miscellany because rather than a collection of news items it was a roster of timely links to various local blogs and sites I may not otherwise visit. Similar to Dane101's 'Breakfast Links' aggregate feature but far more thorough and more interesting.

What's with the tpdf homers defending a broken down site feature? Who gives a deuce about your tenderly sensitive distaste for Stu effing Levitan? I didn't have a clue who he was until jjoyce kicked off this bashing session, but The Stu is right about the miscellany. Leaving it stuck in time would be irritating and unprofessional even if it hadn't been a well-liked site feature. And adding injury to insult, I have to look at the same permanent Konkel Kwotes daily. Stop hitting yourself, indeed.

I have to admit I’m amused at the level of discontent over this. Now every time I check it and see it’s not updated, I imagine someone about to chuck their computer against the wall in anger.
