Going to Toronto and Ottawa

We want to hear about your adventures, be they from Istanbul, Ixtapa or Ixonia. And hey, you might even find someone you can sell your extra Euros to.

Going to Toronto and Ottawa

Postby Abdul » Mon Sep 13, 2010 3:07 pm

Leaving for Toronto and Ottawa on Friday 9/17. Mostly business but some fun for me and lots for my wife. Looking for any ideas on great palces to go and especially eat. Don't suggest the CN Tower, my wife hates elevators.

Ottawa has great parks with good bike paths if you like fresh air activities. (You can see 'em on Google Earth.) One famous part of the bike path goes along the Rideau Canal, which is the oldest continuously operated canal in North America. It's got a whole series of locks, and winds past the city's most historic areas. Also, they've got a farmers' market, if you're homesick. You didn't say if you wanted outdoors activities, but this is a great time of year for such.

All this from friends who moved there and love the place.
