We need to trade Hawk for a running back. The league seems to be littered with them. How about Lynch just doesn't get on the plane back to Buffalo?

Hawk's still a Packer? You wouldn't know it from the plays he's made.

He was only on the field for special teams last weekend. He's still a starter in the Base package of the defense but Capers didn't run that base package even once against Philly.

Hawk played special teams only against the Eagles; while he's a starter in the base defense, he comes out in the nickel and dime packages, which the Packers used on every defensive snap.

I've heard a lot of talk about such a trade, but I don't support it because a) I don't think Lynch is a really good fit here, and b) trading Hawk significantly reduces our depth at the LB position. He may not be a stud, but he is generally solid.

Lynch is a PERFECT fit for this offense. Zone blocking running downhill. That's what Lynch does. Pack may have taken him in the draft if he was still on the board.

trading Hawk significantly reduces our depth at the LB position.

I beg to differ.
Matthews
Barnett
Jones
Chillar
Poppinga
Bishop (playing very well right now)
and of course, our ace in the hole, Frank Fucking Zombo.

I don't like the idea of trading Hawk right now. Lets see how the D does against a power running team before we go trading away linebackers who can play the run. Lets face it, Hawk is a bit of a liability when in coverage but he has been solid against running backs.

I'd also like to see how the Packers running game does before we go trading away decent players.

The answer to our running back dillema scored a touchdown against the Eagles last week.

After all, the 80's Redskins went to consecutive Super Bowls (winning one of them) leaning on a white fullback named John.

You might also want to look at the last several Super Bowl participants (New Orleans and Indianapolis last season, Pittsburgh and Arizona the year before) to see how important the running game was to their success. Answer: not all that much. I really don't see the need for such a trade right now.

Well fuck. That's about all I can say this Monday. Injuries:
Bigby
Harris
Barnett
Pickett
Burnett
Grant
Finley for 3 weeks
Rodgers for at least one game
Chillar
Shields
Tauscher banged up
Clifton banged up

Something tells me the next couple weeks could be ugly. Hopefully we can survive a few games until we get a few of these guys back on the field. Hopefully by the time that happens it won't be too late. At least we don't have to worry about anyone's penis or Rodgers and Driver fighting over facial hair. Pack is still 3-2 along with Indy, New Orleans, and half the rest of the league.

Yes. And I guess if we want to be complete we can throw Justin Harrell in there as well but honestly who didn't think he would be out for the season at some point. Big Ass Back Quinn Johnson as well.

I don't think it's too serious, but didn't The Barbarian tweak his hamstring?

I'm trying to pretend that didn't happen. Even if Clay ManBearPig III isn't out there against the 'Phins I'm just going to go ahead and pretend he is.

Altho Grant is an NFL journeyman runningback at best, defenses had to respect his abilities. Without him the Packer's play action passing game isn't as effective and Rodgers is going to get killed.
