Is either "roundabout" or "Big Mac" a euphemism for something other than their traditionally understood definitions?

Or is this thread a late-night amalgamation of this, this, and this?

If narc had somehow incorporated Willy West I just might have gotten the esoteric foron inside joke.

Right, but then it wouldn't have belonged in East Side Vibe, which narcoleptish struggles to revitalize on a lunar cycle.

And boy, can those lunar cycles move. They'll also fit between the barriers on the Jenifer St. entrance for the co-op.

Well, I like persia, am so west side that I don't dare to venture past Wisconsin Ave or MLK when I go to the Farmer's Market. It's more of a horseshoe than a square to us hardcore westsiders.

Whoa, the Farmer's Market is all downtown. You have to go at least to Blair St. before you're on the real East Syde.

Then why are parts of Main & Mifflin on the Square called "East" and others "West"?

They're not. The "E" and "W" that you refer to on the signs actually stand for, and this is only in the downtown area proper, Esoteric and Whimsical. In the early days of the downtown, probably in the 50's, the folks that lived west of the square were known as a fun-loving bunch with nary a care, whilst those who dwelled in an easterly direction tended to act as if they and they alone were privy to some higher understanding of all things cool and hip. Once away from the gravitational force of these two groups, the streets reverted back to the more commonly understood East and West designations. These labels were chosen by a man named Valencia Garton, who, in those days, was employed by the Chamber of Commerce and was in charge of such things.

Googling this bit of downtown historical trivia will do you no good, it's much too obscure.

And come on Joe! You really didn't get the joke at first? And you call yourself average..

When I'm flying down the motorway on the old Kaw, we only appear to be weightless.

And I promise you can kick me off the forum if I ever say anything about roundabouts again. Ever ever.

"The revolutionary intellectual forces of the East Side standing guard over the inviolable areas of the city took such a decisive step as reacting to the loudmouth puppet groups with a prompt powerful delivering of witty acerbic insults which you can't probably understand anyways"

This confused me for a minute but I managed to figure it out. Wait a minute... Joe likes persia? I thought they were just passing acquaintances.

Aha. There's a comma missing: Well, I, like persia, ....

Can't have too many commas, I always say. They're a lot like clamps. That's a woodworking joke.
