Organic Lawn Care

Organic Lawn Care

Postby Crockett » Mon May 09, 2011 2:11 pm

I'm looking for a local, organic lawn service company to make our lawn look better.

I don't mind weeds but I do like grass (and we're lacking the latter lately).

Any suggestions?

I'm interested in how they fertilize & de-weed organically. Seems like a lot of the elements that help grass grow (like non-fresh manure) would be the same tried & true stuff sold in most store-bought ferilizers. And I imagine de-weeding is where things get really complicated.

I checked out this site:

To me, it seemed long on hyperbole and short on specifics.

My buddy runs a landscaping service and offers both organic alternatives and clean air options.

I know that Mother Earths Lawn Care does organic lawn treatment and services in the Madison area. At first I just used their landscape maintenance services for mowing, mulching, etc, and used TruGreen. I use to live in Sun Prairie, but then moved into Middleton. I met their owner one day and ended up talking with him for a long time about the different natural and organic products that they use for both fertilization and weed control. The guy said that what they use is safe around kids, pets, and even for the lakes. I know that their website is www.motherearthslawncare.com and you can call them @ (608) 695-7642.
