I just mooch off of my friends' CSA boxes. I invite them over to dinner and they bring the veggies! Made a farro salad last weekend with asparagus, zucchini, smoked provolone, garlic scapes and red onions. Tossed in some sun dried tomoatos, red bell pepper and topped it in a light vinagrette. Served it with grilled moonfish with lemons and capers, delish! For dessert, farmer's market strawberries with pound cake and gelato, washed down with with homemade strawberry liqueur and drizzled with Fabbri coffee syrup.
This week I will make more fresh strawberry liqueur since we polished it all off. Still not sure what to make for 4th of July picnic, I'll have to see what they all get this week! The key is to have multiple friends with different farm boxes, you'll have quite the selection.
