Reference amplifier repair?

Postby HamsterArmageddon » Tue Jul 05, 2011 9:38 am

Is there anyone in this town who has experience troubleshooting and repairing studio reference amplifiers, in particular Alesis amplifiers?

Thanks

I know the answer but you're kind of a dick so I'm not going to give it to you.

A reference librarian could probably find the answer for you.

Threads like this one remind me exactly why the rest of the state feels about Madison as it does.

Aside from you PB and Flanders there is no raging douche bag at the level of Mr. Hamster here. Why would anyone here want to help? He's done nothing but lob bombs at this entire board.

There's a difference between presenting different ideas and lobbing insults. For future reference PB if you want help go someplace where you haven't burned every bridge.

The proper answer is "I don't know," but if it will help at all, the term "reference" is just a marketing buzzword. A power amp is a power amp.

Unfortunately, given the plummeting cost of electronics, it's getting ever more difficult to justify repairing gear when it conks out, unless you can safely repair it yourself.

If I may ask, what's wrong with it?
