Amy Winehouse Assumes Room Temperature

If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

A lot of those songs on Back To Black are pretty dark (no pun intended). The songs ARE pretty slick sounding but the lyrics definitely go to some pretty weird places.

Pitchfork actually has the best obit/writeup I've seen so far - http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/8011-appreciation-amy-winehouse/

Okay, so now that the autopsy has revealed no illegal drugs and the possibility has been raised that it might just be alcohol withdrawal that killed her, what's everybody got to say?

Yeah I know, it's the Sun, it's a British tabloid, but the autopsy's real: no illegal drugs and no overdose of legal ones. Cause of death is still under investigation, but she didn't OD. It could have been cold turkey that killed her.

I better have a cocktail, just in case. Wouldn't want to risk it.

According to ASAM's latest publication, that actually is a viable treatment for some.

For others like you and I, it's a great excuse. Well, for me it is. I shouldn't make judgements about you.

clearly her body was suffering from the effects of long term opiate abuse, not to mention alcohol and cocaine abuse...so while she might have been clean, the stressor of alcohol withdrawal shouldn't be underestimated. Not to mention barbituate withdrawal...or even opiate withdrawal...or a combination of all of the above. All it takes is one seizure when you're alone and whammo!
