Rep. Fred Clark plows over bicylist

If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

Rep. Fred Clark plows over bicylist

Postby bluethedog » Wed Aug 19, 2009 6:12 am

http://www.nbc15.com/home/headlines/53613297.html

and then says "What occured was an accident..."

Hey Fred, thanks for clarifying that you didn't run over the person on purpose.

What occurred was:

1. You had your head up your ass
2. You ran a red light
3. You didn't take responsibility for it

One of our "leaders" - right.

According to this report Clark knew the dude he hit....

Clark was cited and released by police. A spokesperson for Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan said Clark said the biker was a close friend of Clark's and the assemblyman was shaken up by the incident.

Thanks for posting this - we drove by after it happened, and the cyclist was on the ground with EMTs hovering around. Didn't see the story last night, either.

It's tough enough WALKING around downtown these days with all the inattentive drivers on the streets. I can't even imagine riding a bike at rush hour......

Wow - Ch. 47 reported that he ran the red light 3 seconds after it turned.

It's a scary video from the Metro bus.

Perhaps we need to install rising bollards at critical intersections. See Rising bollards. (You'll want to turn sound off.)

Except that Clark didn't "plow over" the guy. He ran a red light and the bicyclist hit Clark's vehicle over the right front tire. At least get it right. Really no different than if another vehicle had hit Clark in that type of scenario. I'm shocked the bicyclist wasn't more severely injured, but being "plowed over" insinuates being either hit by the front of the car or somehow ending up under the undercarriage while it moves forward. Bummer either way!

The ads being run against Fred Clark are true and necessary. His license should have been revoked a long time ago. We don't need idiots like this on the streets or in public office.

Since when has politics ever been about policy? But, you knew that.
