Bye Bye Bean

Where are you eating and what do you think? What's opening, closing, succeeding, failing?

If I was one of them smaller people I think I would just prefer "short". Dwarf just sounds creepy. Are any descriptive words meant to set people apart really that great? Are stout, stocky, or big-boned all that much better than plain old fat? And obese is a terrible word.

What were we talking about..

"Snow White and The Seven Short Guys" would've been a very different movie.

I went once at the Bean for this.
http://www.microwrestling.com/
They run a tight ship and it’s a partial carny vibe, with some decent showmanship throwing back to classic era wrestling (which is a carny vibe anyway). Family members big and small run it and keep/kept it moving like clockwork.

It’s low brow entertainment, so I can see folks being turned off by it.
Although with low brow entertainment being a moneymaker, it’s caters to just that - by upping the ante.
The little foxy boxing/wrestling matches thrown in aren’t even explicitly advertised.

Take it or leave it.
Boycott it or buy a drink at it.
It’s a living.

I didn’t need to head back to see it again the next time it came through town.

We used to play trivia there as well. The waitstaff (read: the one waitress) was always overworked; we found out that they refused to hire more staffers, even when they knew there would be more people on a particular night. On Mondays she'd cover both rooms herself, including both the bluegrass jam on one side and trivia on the other with multi-person tables. So... no surprise that the service wasn't always the most chipper.

Wow, the Bean is really dead? Used to pick up loads of folks from there in my cab, then it sorta died down recently. I always wondered if the Angela Drake murder diminished the attendance out there. The place was packed packed packed and then as of the last few years then was always dead when I loaded there. Didn't even notice it was gone.
