Travel Agent Recommendation?

We want to hear about your adventures, be they from Istanbul, Ixtapa or Ixonia. And hey, you might even find someone you can sell your extra Euros to.

Travel Agent Recommendation?

Postby kimm » Mon Sep 12, 2011 11:51 am

Does anyone have a LOCAL Madison area agent they've worked with and recommend? It's most just airfare (some complexities such as multi stop trips, some international), with occassional hotel that I'd use the person for. Experience, accuracy and thoroughness is very, very important.

Step 1: Invent a time machine.
Step 2: Travel to 1993.
Step 3: Find one of the numerous local travel agents. They will be happy to assist you.

(If you have time on your journey, please warn Palm Beach County about the implications of the butterfly ballot)

Hardy har...I get my request is a little outdated. For personal trips, I book my own. This is for all the work travel that I don't necessarily have time to deal with and I want someone to take care of cancellations/delays/necessary reroutes.

This probably isn't very helpful if you EVER look at print media, but I see a lot of ads for Burkhalter Travel and have heard a little good word-of-mouth about them.

As is the case with most people, I suspect, I do all of my own travel arranging via Internet. I do miss having someone human to have my back/bitch to when the occasional inevitable travel problem arises.

Kimm,
I hate to break it to you but my mom and I where talking about this yesterday and travel agents in this country are as redundant as the video store unless your traveling on business and your company has a travel office. :)

A travel agent can get you the same price you get yourself on the internet AND you have help when everything gets fucked up. I've used Burkhalter and they're fine.

Where have all the jobs gone?? Give me a fucking break.
