Saved By His Six Pack!

If it's news, but not politics, then it goes here.

Saved By His Six Pack!

Postby david cohen » Mon Oct 24, 2011 1:21 pm

My daughter and son were in the car with me after the Badger hockey game Saturday night when we came upon this scene at Sherman and Northport. The whole front windshield of the Metro bus was smashed in and my daughter got pretty upset as it looked like the bicyclist couldn't have survived such a collision. Glad to read he was only shitfaced and not yet another junkie on wheels!

I guess beer does come in handy!

This is why drunk biking is still a DUI. You might not have the power of the 2,000 lb car but you can still create a dangerous accident scene on your bike.

Wow, .26 and feeling the need for more beer.

Maybe he was stocking up for the long winter ahead.

Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of beer...

You can get on your bicycle and ride as hammered as you can get, as long as you can still actually ride that bicycle. Any other traffic laws which apply to bicycles you violate while ripped is on you.

The WI statute is 346.63(1)(a) Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of an Intoxicant, Controlled Substance, or Both.

All I can tell you is that it looked really bad when we drove by. Bad enough to tell teenagers to look away. I guess this clown was lucky he didn't end up under the bus, as opposed to his flying upwards into the windshield. What a cursed spot- this was directly across from where the folks were fatally electrocuted a few summers ago when the power line fell into the flooded roadway as they exited the Metro bus:(

I think this illustrates a law of physics usually reserved for running into deer:

If you're going real slow, it ends up on your grill.

If you're going medium speed, in ends up in your lap (which almost happened here, and is the worst outcome).

If you're going real fast, it slides over the top of your car.

Not to be unsympathetic to the injured person, but this can't have been fun for the bus driver either.

Seamus is heading home from the pub with a takeaway pint in his pocket, when he is hit by a bus crossing the street.

Lying in the street looking up at the sky, he feels a wetness all along his side. He cries "Please, dear Lord, let that be blood!"

(I'm Irish, I can tell this, right?)
