"But consider this. Even if Walker is removed from office, he still wins the debate. Any setback will be temporary. Pension reforms are a reality. California is next.

Walker, heralded as a “hero” of the conservative cause, will be in Washington in two months to address the American Conservative Union. If he comes out on top, in a special election, he is a right wing political star. If he loses, he is a political martyr, but still a star. What Walker represents – the idea behind his policies – cannot be killed even if he is temporarily removed from office."

Ha ha! Make the yuletide gay, bdog.

First Runner Up - Andrew Cuomo

http://governorsjournal.com/2011/12/andrew-cuomo-first-runner-up/

"Cuomo adopted 1990’s style Republican rhetoric when it came to budget issues. He argued the state’s deficit was not as large as it seemed, because deficit projections were being based on promises the state could not afford to deliver on.

Sounding like a Republican governor, he took on school systems and advocates of government spending, arguing that “a decrease in the expected increase” in spending, is not a budget cut. He insisted the budget gap could be closed without tax increases and he held to those positions until he got his way."

People, the "governor's journal" is one guy:

Not a real credible guy, either, if you check his record.

OK. What else have you got?

The same to you, and to the short list of other christmas-nonparticipants on line right now.

And to everybody else out there.

I agree. This is the inaugural year of the journal, and I got the feeling that his choice of Walker was not driven by politics, much less which governor did "the best", however you determine that, but rather by a desire for clicks.

What's wrong with his record? Guilt by association.

Does he hide behind a pseudonym? RootRiverSiren does.

How about attacking the merits of what he says rather than attacking him, the person? Are you capable of doing that?

Like him or not, Walker was the obvious choice for Governor of the year.

It's like this

Bdog's got a point. Walker deserves governor of the year just like the Ayatollah and Hitler deserved Time's award.

It'll be something he can take away when he packs his bags in the spring.

The only thing to disagree about is Meade's assumption that he got it because his actions produced a positive effect.
