2012 resolutions

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here

The gym is always more crowded in January, but usually back to normal by February. A constant, smaller version of this seems to go on every week were Monday is always packed and Friday is always dead.

* Figure out the source of my dissatisfaction with my life and career, then figure out how to fix it.

* Learn to play piano.

* Get out more.

* Take a vacation.

I'm going to try not to swear so much this year.

I resolve to swear much, much more.

Especially around nuns, children and the elderly.

I resolve to start using phrases like "by gum!" and "gee willickers!" and "heavens to betsy!" every time Marvell posts.

Or at least that would be my resolution if I hadn't resolved not to make any resolutions this year.

Here's one for the Isthmus/The Daily Page. Remove the links to "Emily's Post" and "Blaska's Blog" before the new year ends.

I resolve to slap a headlock on the first person this year who uses the term "sense of place" in my presence.

Saying "going/went viral" is going to get you a sneeze in the face.

Uh oh.

For the audience's sake, I sure hope you don't come to the Mickey's open mike this weekend.

At least let me put my guitar and drink down first.

I've resolved to be thoughtfully cruel to every person that crosses my path jibbering about the 2012 apocalypse with any sort of sincerity.

I've never been one for resolutions but, I'll give it a go...

I'm going to be an excellent dad and be as flexible, loving and supportive as required to support my growing (and grown) kids through their difficult life struggles

I'm going to finally accept there is nothing more I can do and let her go, it's time for me to give up and move on

I'm gonna kill the shit out of a deer this autumn and have an awesome time hunting with my family

I'm going to volunteer more - this is something I've done less of but, it's really important to me

I've given too much of myself away, I am going to take my life back and focus on the people that are here for me and want me in their lives

I'm going to drive slower

and lastly....

I'm going to stop passing gas during long meetings where people are forced to stay in the room and just suck-it-up :D

Many people read the mayan calender thing as a reawakening. So that's what I'm counting on. Unless of course it's some huge buried monster that's waking up. Like Orson Welles.
