RECORD RIOT! Come for the records, stay for the rockin'

Got a gig coming up? A CD coming out? A new bass player who looks like Jesus and smells like a field of posies? If you're selling or promoting something, post it here.

RECORD RIOT! Come for the records, stay for the rockin'

Postby dave esmond » Wed May 16, 2012 3:03 pm

Records! Albums! LPs! Discos! Frisbees! Whatever you call em, just don't call them "vinyls"!

The record hoarders are releasing a fresh crop of playable, collectible (collect them all!) friends into the wild at the High Noon Saloon on Saturday, May 19, noon-4 pm. We'll have hundreds of LPs and 45s from various sellers. Expect lots of dollar albums to dig through, as well as better titles that are more than a dollar! Records will likely be all genres from the age of the LP and forward.

There's no admission fee, and all are welcome to stop by and dig for gold. The High Noon's 2 for 1 happy hour special will be rockin' the bar so you can throw back a few cold ones while perusing -- just don't spill 'em on the records! After we move out the records, stick around for some happy hour rock from Digibot and The Arkoffs at 5:30 pm, in honor of Adam's 40th birthday; and Foxy Shazam at 9:30 pm

Did I hear pretzel bar? Yeah, I heard pretzel bar at the 5 o'clock show.

There's gonna be a pile of free jazz at my section.

And some of this.

Is that "free jazz" as in no-cost, or "free jazz" as in Ornette Coleman & Friends?

I will be shopping for Twin Cities related good stuff and I've got a fat wallet. Vendors, start your engines.

P.S. There is no such thing as free jazz. There is always a price to be paid for jazz.

(I might have to keep the Frankie Brent, there are live shots on the back cover where he's drunk and making out with chicks onstage)

I will also have some good music and extreme discount 45s.

Is there any space for me to sell my many volumes of MTV Party To Go cassettes? I presently own volumes 1-13 and they're taking up space in my basement.

Addendum: I am also willing to price with the complete works of En Vogue on cassette, IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

Don't try to buy my Ace of Bass cassette.

Thanks to everybody that came out to make the Record Riot a great time.

Probably the only time in my life I can say that John Cage bought me lunch.
