Who could know, given the absence of a "Walker frogmarch" Intrade market?

We DO know that he's got a 0.1% chance of being the VP nominee this year, which is too bad. I'd prefer that he continue to spend all his time campaigning out-of-state.

The two conditions are not mutually exclusive. He's got quite a debt to the RGA and RNC to work off, after all, even without the perk of a shiny new VP spot. Just building up for a bigger splash when he goes down.

Lawyer for former Walker aide wants charges tossed

The defense attorney for a former aide to Gov. Scott Walker wants charges against the aide thrown out, saying the prosecution is based on "immunized testimony."

Kelly M. Rindfleisch served on Walker's staff when Walker was the Milwaukee County executive. She's charged with four felony counts of misconduct in office, stemming from allegations that she did campaign work on county time.

Defense attorney Frank Gimbel filed motions this week asking that the charges be dismissed. He said the allegations are based on information Rindfleisch gave under a non-prosecution agreement in a separate 2002 case. He wants the current case tossed and the prosecution barred from bringing new charges.

The prosecution has filed its own motions seeking permission to introduce more email evidence.

Judge refuses to throw out charges against former Walker aide

A Milwaukee County judge Wednesday refused to throw out charges against Timothy Russell, a former top county aide to Gov. Scott Walker who claimed prosecutors had taken steps to hobble his defense.

Circuit Judge David Hansher said he found no merit to claims prosecutors withheld from Russell material seized in raids on Russell's home, subjected Russell to a prejudicial televised "perp walk" when he was arraigned or stalled progress of the case.

Hansher called the stalling claim "frivolous," noting that Russell had caused delays by switching lawyers three times and hadn't objected to delaying the original June trial date to September.

Hansher also rejected Russell's claim prosecutors erred in expanding the initial focus of a secret John Doe probe regarding the theft of money from Operation Freedom, an annual picnic for veterans and their families at the Milwaukee County Zoo that Walker sponsored while he was Milwaukee County executive.

Drat. You know, when Walker finally does the perp walk it won't count because it didn't happen soon enough. Right, pee nut?

Yes, sometimes people are wrong when they try to predict what Walker will do. Remember the guy who said he was supporting Walker because he would reverse the smoking ban? The guy even bragged he was allowed to smoke in Walker's office when he discussed the ban with him. Then Walker played him for a fool by refusing to work to undo the ban.

Remember that?

100 days, based on the date of your question.

If you ask nicely, I'll teach you how to do the math.

Dammit. Gosh darn those unsubstantiated rumors. Now when Walker's arrested, his sycophants can crow "Wow, took ya long enough, didn't it? Nyah!"

One of the musicians on this board really has to write "The Walker Frogmarch." Preferably for a marching band that includes bassoons and cellos. And maybe an interlude featuring a musical saw.

Ex-Walker aide to be sentenced on 2 misdemeanors

A former aide to then-Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker is due to be sentenced on charges of working on a political campaign on county time.
...
Wink was to be sentenced two months ago, but prosecutors asked for an extension. They said the plea deal required that she cooperate in ongoing investigations of other associates close to Walker.

Five other Walker aides and associates have also been charged, on allegations ranging from embezzlement to campaigning on county time.

I wonder how much she cooperated to get a reduced sentence. Walker should be very nervous.

At least Walker's perp walk will be a smooth one. $10k to an out-of-state PR firm from his legal defense fund...sounds, well, indefensible!
