Are you available for a little neighborly assistance? I use wifi in my ancient apartment building, with cable access a distant corner from my office.

I look forward to admiring your cable-pulling technique.

Hey Huck,
I may be able to help you out: I used to this sort of thing for a living, though it was a sideline. I still enjoy doing a bit of it for friends, and believe it or not, I don't even charge for labor. I just like doing it. Here's the rub: I don't know how forons actually touch base off-line; I'd rather not post my name or phone number here, so how do we talk? Any ideas?

Ttusker,
thanks for the offer, that is really cool of you!

I was just joking, I don't have any problems with my wifi setup.
I do anticipate 3D porn usage in near future, and will think of you first if the increased bandwidth uncovers any intermitency problems. Nothing worse than herky jerky anal sex.

Sure thing, Huck. 3D porn will definitely suck bandwidth, and just wait til you need to download a sex doll file for your 3D printer! You'll want a nice fast connection for that....

oh, I won't be experimenting with any fancy-shmancy high tech dolls.

I come from a generation where loyalty still means something.

I was planning on Cat5e or Cat6.
I have yet to find a wifi setup that can cover the 3 floors so I'm going back to wired is b/c it's safer & faster.
Wireless is a PITA in an old home that's in a neighborhood where everyone has a wireless router walking all over each other's RF.

BTW - great suggestion on the alarm installers. Thanks.
