McDonell Campaign Jive

Postby Stu Levitan » Tue Jul 31, 2012 5:29 am

McDonell transfers $1,800 from PAC he controls to his own County Clerk campaign, fails to put PAC's address (his own home) on campaign finance report. Calls it "clerical error." Details here. One more reason to support Mike Quieto.

As a campaign treasurer, I called the County Clerk's office to get an address for "Citizens for Dane County's Future", so I could list it on my candidate's report. The staff told me that I didn't need to list it.

So... all you Treasurer's out there: you can ignore address reporting of committees on Schedule 2-B

Any robo-calls going out telling people not to bother voting?

Now that would surely be a red flag.

"It's a huge lack of transparency," said Quieto's spokesman Zach Madden. "It appears to us to be pretty deliberate."

Help me here: It lacks transparency and yet it appears pretty deliberate?

Transparently, someone appears to be tripping.

Another disturbing issue was the report of robocalls which allegedly told those who had signed the recall petitions that they did not need to turn up to vote on Election Day.

Exactly. Thank you, Stebben84. The report of robocalls created a "disturbing issue" for that nice lady poll observer, Jeanette Senecal. And just who was it who confirmed those reports? Our own Stu Levitan, right here at TDPF.

I'd say Stu Levitan owes Jeanette Senecal an apology for disturbing her otherwise wonderful day of observing democracy in action. Wouldn't you?

Here's the link to the original robocall story, for anybody still trying to follow this nonsensical thread:

Why Levitan would owe anybody an apology isn't clear. What Meade is trying to say isn't clear either, but we knew that.

Honest question: What were the previous reasons?
