Well, isn't that special. The day Bernanke and Paulson met privately with legislators to inform them of the coming banking crisis, Ryan did some selling.

I'm pretty sure that there are no Cliff's Notes for any of Rand's works because the editors have never figured out how to typographically render a jaw-breaking yawn.

In all fairness, he could have made his millions driving the Weinermobile. I guess we'll need to see his tax returns.

Ryan "corrects" his financial reports.

While being vetted by Mitt Romney's campaign, GOP vice presidential hopeful Rep. Paul Ryan amended two years of his financial disclosure statements to add an income-producing trust worth between $1 million and $5 million that he had previously neglected to report.

Aw, you caught me. I made up the part about Cliff Notes. My synopsis is from my own recollection of the book, but it was long ago. Atlas Shrugged had a wave of popularity during the Reagan Revolution. As I recall, David Stockman was a Rand follower.

Admittedly, I never got through The Speech. But for a time I identified with one of the heroes, Hank Rearden, because I fancied myself as a brilliant inventor and industrialist.

Ryan caught in a lie.

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan on Thursday denied for a second time that he ever lobbied the government for stimulus money, even though he sent letters — with his signature — to the Energy Department and Labor Department asking for millions of the program's dollars on behalf of two companies in Wisconsin.

Let the vetting continue.

Cliff Notes Ayn Rand

Too much detail, I think.

That's quite useful. It helped me figure out how far I got through the book before giving up.

But help me figure out one thing. Is Paul Ryan a Looter or a Moocher?

Oh, most definitely a looter. (Which, not surprisingly, rhymes with Scooter.)

Didn't request stimulus funds, oh wait... did request stimulus funds.

By the way.. which part of this sentence is true?
"Regardless, it's clear that the Obama stimulus did nothing to stimulate the economy, and now the President is asking to do it all over again."

WAY too much. But this part, about Dagny's arrival at Galt's Gulch...

All the great men she admires are here — inventors, industrialists, philosophers, scientists, and artists.

...reminds me of a giant flaw in Rand's adolescent fantasy that I recognized even as an adolescent: With the probable exception of the industrialists, "all the great men" wouldn't be caught dead in her godawful gated community.

Ryan is a fraud.

In poker a “tell” is the physical giveaway or tic that lets you know someone is lying about his or her hand. In politics it’s the mode of evasion a politician chooses to sidestep a truth he or she doesn’t want to admit or to avoid saying something against self-interest. In his debut interview with Fox News’ Brit Hume Tuesday, Rep. Paul Ryan’s “tells” were audacious and revealing. They suggest an opening Democrats would be wise to pursue.

Ryan (R-Wis.) tried to cloak himself in his supposedly charming “wonky-ness” to sidestep two simple questions from Hume: When does Mitt Romney’s budget reach balance, and when does Ryan’s own budget plan do the same? Ryan pirouetted because Hume’s queries threatened to expose his famed “fiscal conservatism” as a fraud.

Paul Ryan might have to find himself a new favorite band.

The Nuge is always a good option, but how about Megadeth?

TP has the letters.

Ryan's response:
I didn’t recall the letters earlier

He's a contender for the 2011 Reagan prize for Convenient Memory Loss.

they should have been handled differently

So despite my claim to 'fiscal responsibility', I just hand out federal money all day long without even thinking.Unless its supposed to help the economy.

'Regardless' - as in, "Regardless of the truth, I will keep making shit up".
