madison.com limits viewing

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it fits here

If they were serious about enforcing their "meter," they would come up with something better than obviously named cookies. LA Times, for instance--you can delete all the cookies named LATxxxx and you still won't get in.

The only good cookie is a purged cookie.

doesn't matter what the consequences are or aren't. If you are stealing content that you're supposed to be paying for then you are a thief and cheap.
Is it a huge deal? No, but neither is paying for the content you want in my opinion.

I don't nor have i ever worked for a newspaper.

Sure, but we're not talking about stealing content, we're talking about viewing freely accessible content that certain folks would prefer you pay for.

Take a breath.

The answer is simple: a wireless Madison.com smart meter.

You know it's bad when mad.com visitors get so fed up that they take the time and effort to create an alternative to parts of their site.

Like Sandi has done here.

I just joined. I encourage others to also.

Choices are good.

It isn't just visitors. The members have also quit coming because the new forum software ( The Port ) is such a shambles.

I sent an email to Tim Kelly and pointed out the problems which are mostly CSS files improperly written. As a website and PHP programmer I even volunteered to fix the problems, but he never replied.

Apparently they choose/prefer to let the forum die. That is why I started a replacement.

Another news site, jsonline, also has a monthly limit. So use their mobile site instead (thanks, Sno).

http://m.jsonline.com/

Edit: their mobile site also limits views per month. I just got a pop up at the site saying I had only five more free views. Looks like they add views from both their regular site and the mobile one together. Oh well, the month is nearly over.

No limits on madisonforum.net as I run it on a VPS server with a quad-core CPU and raid 125gig hd and lots of memory. :)

And yeah I plug it because it is a new startup and need members.

Good luck with that forum, seriously. Anything that dilutes the venom around here is a good thing, and choice is good too.
