The hits keep coming:

"We have a message that people understand," Akin said. "It isn't something that's in the brain. It's in the heart."

Tommy Thompson apparently publicly urged Todd Akin to give up his Senate race. Perhaps we need to get Mr. Thompson on the record as to whether he fully supports the Republican Party (draft) Platform on abortion.

I enjoyed an entertaining moment with "Bret Baier's Fox Allstar Panel":

A short clip is shown where Paul Ryan is confronted by a reporter on his past use of "forcible rape" language in legislation. Ryan responds implausibly, "I just meant rape. Rape is rape."

Back to the allstars. Stephen Hayes is uncomfortable, attempts to reassure candidly, "What they were trying to do is distinguish statutory rape, you know, like with a 19-year-old and 16-year-old."

Bret Baier's eyes pop right out of his head, he knows Hayes has stepped in it big time. Baier cuts off debate and hurridly announces a commercial.

What have we uncovered here?
1) Stephen Hayes confirms that choir boy Paul Ryan is lying through his teeth
2) Mainstream Republican thinking is in fact that different types of rape exist, and the intention is to limit abortion exemptions to
"legitimate rape."

rich.

The people of Missouri know the difference between right and wrong, so don't you liberal elitists try to tell them what to think:

Backers described Akin as the "real deal," a politician
fiercely committed to their social causes such as opposition to
abortion, and to the Tea Party drive to downsize government.

Akin gets support from his good friend, Mike Huckabee:
Is this what the party really thinks of principled pro-life advocates? Do we forgive and forget the verbal gaffes of Republicans who are "conveniently pro-life" for political advantage, but crucify one who truly believes that every life is sacred?

Actually, he has a point. Just where did Akin go off-message ?

Akin himself says the problem is just one word. I'll give him that. He meant to say 'forcible rape'. That's entirely consistent with the GOP platform.

Huckabee wrote:So I will join Todd as often as I can, in his fight for our Party’s pro-life policies, traditional marriage and our efforts to rein in the massive expansion of government under President Obama.

Please do, Mike. Don't let those party bosses walk all over you!

Huckabee, Gingrich blast Rove for 'murder' comment

Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee both had harsh words for conservative strategist Karl Rove on Sunday after Rove joked about murdering GOP U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, whose controversial comments about rape and pregnancy drew the ire and condemnation of most Republicans. Both Gingrich and Huckabee referred to former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords as they condemned Rove's joke.

"We should sink Todd Akin. If he's found mysteriously murdered, don't look for my whereabouts," Rove said Thursday at a private fund-raiser, according to a Businessweek reporter who was not supposed to be there.

If Rove wants one of his own murdered, what does he think about Obama?
