RNC in Tampa

Postby Beaver » Sat Aug 25, 2012 8:09 pm

Will Hurricane Isaac crash their party? What will prince Reince Priebus do? How many protestors will there be? What will the drones do? This could be fun to watch...from a distance.

Isaac forces RNC to delay start of Tampa convention to Tuesday

"Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus announced Saturday that the GOP would cancel Monday’s convention events due to Tropical Storm Isaac. Priebus said that the convention would convene on Monday August 27th and immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon on August 28th."

I wonder if Pat Robinson will claim that God is sending a hurricane to Tampa in order to punish the GOP.

I hope so. But former Republican FL Governor Crist has started RNC convention off well by endorsing Obama. How's that for a blow to the RNC.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/2 ... Pres-Obama
Gov. Charlie Crist Endorses Pres. Obama

"'As America prepares to pick our president for the next four years — and as Florida prepares once again to play a decisive role — I'm confident that President Barack Obama is the right leader for our state and the nation. I applaud and share his vision of a future built by a strong and confident middle class in an economy that gives us the opportunity to reap prosperity through hard work and personal responsibility. It is a vision of the future proven right by our history."

Yeah, Romney's vision is of a weak and frightened middle class in an economy without opportunity for prosperity.

Of course, that vision, unfortunately, comes from looking at the last four years of the Obama administration.

"Hard work and personal responsibility" are Repo talking points.

And now they are being applied to President Obama.

The GOP is in damage control mode and not only because of the impending perfect storm. Ryan's buddy, Toddy "Legitimate Rape" Akin has been banned, but his spirit will still hover over the convention. And Ron Paul's delegates are finally allowed in (avoiding a nasty credentials fight), but they still might stir things up during floor votes. This could be very interesting.

Speaking of perfect storm, I caught Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio on a tv show the other night.

You don't see much of her anymore.

I like the actor John Hawkes from that movie.

Why do you try to divert discussions away from thread titles? This isn't the first time you have done so. Just trying to be a jerk? Got any comments on the convention?

Why do you ask questions but never answer any?

Why do you constantly start threads with the sole purpose of trolling?

Do you not like Clooney movies?

Bygones Henry.

Seems to me that the RNC is shaping up to be a real yawner.

Will Palin be there? I'd buy that for a dollar.

They are planning a tribute for Neil Armstrong (but not for Lance).

I've read that Tampa is the stripper/lap dance capital of the U.S. I wonder if the delegates can avoid a Prince Harry moment.

Shortly after I wrote the above, I found this article: Ron Paul on Romney: ‘I don’t fully endorse him for president’

Thanks Henry. I agree the Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio post seems like nonsense.
