I believe he's referring to what the source in the story says: "We have sexual dysfunction ads on television -- for men."

Yes.

Thanks, Kenneth. That makes sense.

Either that or Henry was simply expressing his penis envy.

And how many people pick up the Onion and read Savage Love inside the back cover. I'm guessing that Mr. Metcalfe is underestimating his customers.

Search this forum for "Clinton's penis" and you'll see that you got me confused with Ned. Your name might come up too, based on recent posts.

Nothing.
But note that sadiekat isn't trying to force her prudery on others. She's not picketing Isthmus or demanding they be silenced or proposing laws and constitutional amendments so that no one will have to gaze upon such filth again. She just turned the newspaper over.

See how easy that is?

Absolutely correct- I, and I alone, own my discomfort with the cover. I'm not saying it's inappropriate, just a little much for ME. Frankly, Metcalfe's could have taken the same approach, turning the issues over in the rack. Relegating them to the service counter seems a bit extreme.

All of this is very funny, considering that if you knew me, 'prudish' is the last word that would come to mind.

Actually, Henry V's outrage at the double standard may be right on. Think about it - how is this act of repressive tyrannical social conservatism any different from Chick-fil-a's anti-gayness stance?

Super liberals of Madison Wisconsin, rise up! You have nothing to lose but your prudery! Organize, demonstrate, and protest! In the same way gays and lesbians staged kiss-ins at that hateful chicken restaurant, super liberals should stage their own protests of Metcalfe's impingement on our human right to sex toys.

You could, for example, en masse, occupy the produce section of the popular grocer and commandeer carrots, zucchinis, and eggplants as ersatz sex toys. Also, bananas. In fact, how dare they hide Isthmus when, at the same time, they openly display bananas?

Call it a "Masturbation-In". Or, if you prefer, a "Masturbation-In-and-Out"!

Seize the day! Fight the Man...go!

Metcalfe's has been and will continue to be a great place to pick up Isthmus each week. Like most grocery stores around town, it's one of our top distribution points.

I have encouraged people to politely ask for a copy at the service desk and a note this morning informs me that there are no longer any copies available at that location.

It's an excellent story about women's health, well reported and well written.

That's nice. But why has no one but me noticed/mentioned Bland's misogyny in his Sat Aug 25, 2012 10:30 am comment, above? Hmm, super liberals?

Yikes! I just now noticed the photo of the pink vibrator over there on the front pate of thedailypage.com. No wonder you super liberals are so shaken up.

Hey Henry, you're a super liberal, aren't you? Did you notice the misogyny in Bland's comment?

Nobody mentioned a War on Women until you brought it up.
Henry employed no "logic", he merely posted an article of (possible) local interest and noted that there how sexual dysfunction is discussed is different for men and women.
To note that I am being humorless, first there must be some actual humor for me to (not) react to.

Strike three, you're out!

Still not getting any traction on that one, Larry. Maybe you need to bring it up two or three more times in this thread.
