How bad will the Bucky beating be? Nebraska 41 UW 20.

Maybe worse than that. I suspect that stupid option offense will give them fits.

UW's defense is better than that, and Nebraska has not been good against the run. I have Nebraska winning 27-17.

I'm going against the grain on this one. The Badger defense is solid, the offense is coming together with Stave & Gordon.

I can't pick the Badgers, but game willl be close.

Any chance Russell Wilson could play tonight? Seems like he owes us one.

They are doing well so far - but if they still had Wilson, that play action pass would have gotten them about 6 touchdowns by now.

It's not that the Badger's are a totally different team as much as Nebraska has played only cupcakes (yes, even compared to Wisc). Even UCLA is garbage compared to Oregon St.

Currently 27-17 Wisconsin on top. We will probably still find a way to pull out the loss with the terrible play calling, though.

The Badgers lost because they were dominated in the trenches, duh. But if they had poor play calling, they still had a shot to steal the game. Unfortunately, the play calling was atrocious. You knew when Ball was going to get the ball, even though you hoped you might be wrong, you knew where he was going to run, and you knew what the result would be.

No screen pass in the playbook? Why only one touch for Gordon?

I rarely blame play calling for anything, since that is the refuge of the dumbest of dumb fans. That was the worst play calling, and most unproductive formation shifting, I've seen in my life.

Actually, I think he looks like he should be standing at a bus stop wearing an orange safety vest.

Huck's right, though. The game was lost in the trenches. For whatever reason, Wisconsin's ordinarily solid offensive and defensive lines are being pushed around and it seems like they're always playing on the wrong side of the line of scrimmage. Furthermore, in most years past we see Wisconsin teams get stronger as the games go on, not because they aren't tired but because they aren't as tired as the other team. That's not the case this year.

All of the motion and trickery was meant to kept Nebraska's solid defense on its heels but I have to wonder if it had more of an impact on our young quarterback. He's got a great arm but he makes terrible decisions under pressure. It's a miracle he didn't throw about four interceptions.

Nebraska deserved to win that game. They should have been up seven on our final drive anyway because that incomplete pass call at the one was terrible.

Blame Canada.

Paul Chryst's resume includes stops in the NFL and the Pac-10. Matt Canada's resume includes stops in the MAC and at Indiana, which would probably be a second-division team in the MAC.

He'll probably be a decent OC in a few years. But he's learning on the job at Wisconsin and being forced to do so with a team that won back-to-back conference titles.
