DCB wrote:...
If it was 'just a mistake', that implies the state GOP was targeting a get-out-the-vote campaign in a strongly Democratic area. That seems highly implausible.

If it wasn't an intentional effort at voter suppression, the onus is on the GOP to prove otherwise.

DCB makes a really good point. There is no reason for the GOP to conduct a voter registration drive in Madison, or really anywhere in Dane County. Doing so would be against its interests. But conducting a voter suppression effort in Dane County would be in its interests. So, we have motive (reducing the Democratic vote) that supports the evidence (fraudulent voter registration material guaranteed to prevent proper registration).

So, Meade -- Do you agree GOP had motive for voter suppression effort? Do you agree effect of GOP mass mailing was suppression of Madison/Dane County vote? And what was the GOP doing conducting a voter registration drive in Madison at all?

And bdog, the thread title is accurate.

Go to the Albion clerk's office.

Confront him/her with this evidence.

Watch them melt like Jello.

Record their confession.

Post it here.

Why would said clerk have to be "in on it"?

How could they not be "in on it"?

If they didn't know anything about it, they wouldn't be "in on it".

Your turn.

If this is voter supression/suppression what would have to happen to all that mail sent to the town of Albion? And we are talking A LOT of mail here, are we not?

I've repeatedly asked you, and you have not responded: why would the clerk have to be "in on it" for suppression to occur?

What happens to the mail? Good question. Returned to sender? Thrown away? Either way, *best* case for the voter is delay and confusion.
