I see "sewagebackup" and "floodedbasement" both turned 27 today. I'm calling sockpuppet on that motherfucker.

What a troll.

Happy "36" Amy.

For my birthday I got a humidifier and a de-humidifier... I put them in the same room and let them fight it out.

Merci beaucoup, Monsieur B-dog! Notre père, ce héros.

Lil' known fact about me: My golden birthday, that is, I turned 13, on Friday the 13th. It was a very Happy Birthday! Just like yesterday, thanks to my true friends and family! And if you know me in person, you know I like to tell everyone my last name means Friday in German and it's my favorite day of the week!

Optimism: The doctrine, or belief, that everything is beautiful, including what is ugly, everything good, especially the bad, and everything right that is wrong.

Happy Would-Be Birthday, Bob Ross!

A few of my fav lines of his:
We don't have mistakes here, we just have happy accidents."

"happy little trees"

"beat the devil out of it" [aka "drying his paintbrush," while he smiled and often laughed]

Sidenotes: Lymphoma is a real bitch & I love PBS!

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
Begin it now.”

-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Thanks, bdog. My mom came to town and took me out for a late lunch. We always try a new restaurant when she makes it to Madison and this trip ended up being Nile Mediterranean Cuisine on Odana Road. The place was empty, the atmosphere nothing too special, the server was the owner in a denim shirt and jeans, but the food was spectacular. I don't know, maybe I was just really hungry, but everything was absolutely delicious and I probably came home with more food than I actually ate.

And my mom made me a big plate of cookies, too.

Oh, I love my mommy... she's a super lady. Just make sure she doesn't buy you any clothes for Christmas. She has some sort of sixth sense for tracking down the ugliest shirts you've ever seen.

"I found this at Shopko, and you wouldn't guess that it was on the clearance rack! Really nice shirt, I think. And stylish. Look, it's a polo shirt with four pockets across the belly. That will come in handy!"
