That all men are equal is a proposition which, at ordinary times, no sane individual has ever given his assent.

About all you can do in life is be who you are. Some people will love you for you. Most will love you for what you can do for them, and some won't like you at all.

Winston Churchill received a telegram from George Bernard Shaw saying "Two tickets reserved for you, first night Pygmalion. Bring a friend, if you have one." Churchill replied with a telegram saying: "Cannot make first night. Will come to second, if there is one."

I got 3 goodies on Churchill:

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give."

And fittingly, esp. if you like tequila:

I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me."

"We all are worms, but I do believe I am a glowworm."

Keep 'em coming, boys. I got plenty to share!

Worst part about watching the game yesterday,

Realizing that had the news updates about the shooting (in Milwaukee) actually interrupted the game, the station's phone lines would probably have been overloaded with people calling to complain.

If the Medical Examiner is there, probably not a good sign for the suspect.

I wonder how many great thinkers, innovators, inventive and creative minds, have been stifled by owning/inhabiting a "fixer-upper"?

I'm not saying I necessarily fit into any of these catagories, but the time and energy I've put into working on this never-ending project has me thinking of such things.

Much of this thinking is done on my countless trips up and down the stairs taking just a little bit more off that corner of the board to try and match the charming warp of the rafter.

Hopefully there are a few psychopaths in that mix too, to even things out.

What if Dahmer had owned a fixer-upper? That's Jack Handey territory.

Psychopaths live in fixer-uppers. Sociopaths rent them out to others.
