Actually, it's pathetically funny. The Party that wants to shrink government and reduce taxes having endless meetings between high priced DOA flunkies, the AGs office, out-of-state attorneys (how much are they costing us) and Erwin to concoct these shenanigans. Why don't they just watch some Marx Brothers movies? It would be cheaper.

You don't have to open your door. Officers can also be video recorded as they perform their duties in public or in a private place you control.

So just taking the citation service out of the Capitol doesn't mean it can't be seen by others. Just saying it's pretty easy to put things up on youtube along with a tag like "Erwin Capitol Police"...

Seems like I remember a video of some officers trying unsuccessfully to serve Mark Miller with a summons at his house during the demonstrations last year. It was all over the internet.

I don't see it in the news much anymore but the Capitol crackdown continues. When did passage without permits become illegal?

"Catching Up: Capitol protest crackdown results in more than 50 citations in a month"
http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/ ... 963f4.html

"Since late August, when new Capitol Police Chief David Erwin announced that he would soon begin cracking down on protesters at the state Capitol, more than 50 citations have been issued — exceeding the total from all previous months of 2012 combined...
During the first week of September, 11 such citations were issued for "unlawful display of sign." In recent weeks, people have received dozens of additional citations for obstructing access or passage without permits and holding signs over railings, as well as disorderly conduct, the DOA records show. Many citations have repeatedly gone to the same people."

The real question is, when do the court cases begin?

Think that you are splitting a single charge in half
obstructing access or passage without permits
.

So the Capitol Police are using the fire code to ticket people now.
