Election night reactions thread

OK, the night is still young, but I'm feeling pretty good about the Senate right now.

Well, FOX is calling it for Tammy, so that's something.

Yes, and it looks like my favorite professor has won in MA.

A senate with Tammy, and Elizabeth Warren, and without Akin or Mourdock. Nice. When you consider how badly the playing field was tilted against the Democrats this year (23 seats up for election, vs 10 for the GOP) the fact that they're pretty much certain to hold the senate or even gain seats is astounding.

So far, Bludgeon's theories (about the polls being skewed) don't seem to be holding up too well.

I'm very satisfied with how things are going. Romney's paths to victory are getting pretty slim and with the ominous warnings that much of Florida's outstanding vote is coming from Democratic areas, it seems almost impossible for Romney to win Florida or the Presidency. I guess we'll have to see how much of the panhandle is still outstanding.

Overall, Republicans can feel good about holding the House but have to be disappointed with the Senate races. Watching Murdouk, Akin and McMahon go down pretty much forces them to examine the momentum of the Tea Party. They're calling Duckworth a winner over Walsh and if we see Bachmann go down, I think we'll see a real internal struggle within the Republican Party to rein in "the crazies."

I think this one is pretty much wrapped up for Obama, and I'm glad it isn't nearly as close as I was predicting. Get ready to open your bottle of champagne.

I had a die-hard Republican friend call me about 20 minutes ago to complain that FoxNews, of all places, was calling Wisconsin for Obama even though Romney was ahead by 7 by their own numbers.

Something tells me that Bludgeon was similarly irritated.

Bludgeon has so completely, and repeatedly, beclowned himself on this forum, his attack on Nate Silver is just following in that tradition.

The same-sex marriage initiatives (Maine, Maryland, Minnesota) are looking pretty good so far, though only very incomplete results are being reported. In all three states the right side is leading.

Looks like Repubs will keep control of the House and POTUS is too early to call. Romney could still win.

She will be an excellent addition to the Senate.

It's starting to sink in among the bludgeons. The carnage is spectacular.

Yeah, your'e right. Romney could win Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Colorado. I mean, that could happen, couldn't it? Seriously, they call any one of those States for Obama and it's over.

I would like to personally thank the Tea Party for keeping the Senate majority in Democratic hands.
