Carpet muncher? really? I guess that makes Tommy Thompson a Viagra muncher? Jeez...this is HISTORIC in so many ways. I can't wait for Ms. Baldwin to get on that Senate elevator and tell Mitch McConnell how wrong his Christian right really is. Let's not forget that two states legalized gay marriage and our neighbors in Minnesota beat back a christian right referendum to treat gay citizens like second class citizens. Wisconsin should be so evolved...but then look at Thompson, Walker, and people who refer to gay women as "carpet munchers"....like men aren't "carpet munchers" too???

The first openly gay senator in the history of the United States. She's a shameless liberal, a Dane Country "wacko", a person who hails from a town of freaks run by freaks. And she won a State-wide election. We made that happen. Pat yourself on the back.

AND on the heels of Walker's recall win.

Is this perhaps just (poorly executed) satire that everybody is missing?

looking at the county, local, and precinct-level maps in this race, i am wondering if sen-elect baldwin did more advertising, or maybe all of it for that race, in the duluth media market. am i correct in this hypothesis?

I'm wondering if Tammy won, why did Feingold lose last time?

She played the game and Feingold didn't. He stuck to his principles and I commend him for that, but it cost him the race.

I have to think a lot was based on the mood surrounding Walker and Obama as well.

I very much liked her acceptance speech, especially when she called out Tommy. She has class, I think she will represent all of us well, and serves as a positive role model on many levels.

Because he ran during the Tea Party Wave of '10 and she ran with Obama in '12. Dem candidate against RoJo in '16 had better hope Hillary is the nominee.

I spoke to a co-worker today who has volunteered a lot of time the last few years for the Democrats, so much so that she went to the National Convention this year. She didn't fault Feingold at all, and said instead that the state organization could have worked a lot harder for him (she included herself). I can't gauge how accurate her take is, but I believe she has a decent perspective. I also agree with Stu Levitan that Feingold had the unfortunate timing of running in the off-year against the Tea Party surge.
