yes!!! Arkansas to hire Bret Bielema

Badgers, Packers, Mallards. Paddling, running, golfing. And bikes!

yes!!! Arkansas to hire Bret Bielema

Him and his tattoo can take a hike as soon as he loses another Rose Bowl:

Bielema, who has taken the Badgers to three straight Rose Bowls, was nowhere on the radar amid months of speculation over who Arkansas would hire.

I couldn't be happier. He has a douche face rivaled only by Jay Cutler. Kind of a huge stab in the back to old Barry but I think the Badgers will be better off.

Can we put together a flash mob of people carrying cardboard boxes to help him move out?....like right now?

Not too surprised. I asked my brother in law over Thanksgiving if he thought Bilema would stay or go. He was surprised that it was even a question he could leave. Pfffft, I say to him now.

2 Rose bowl losses and a mediocre year so far. If was complete luck they are going to the Rose Bowl and I believe the only reason they killed Nebraska was because of the play calling by the new offensive coordinator.

Why the fuck would someone announce this before the big game. Way to fire up the players.

Badgers need to hire Tressel.

Edit.
Scratch that. Looks like he faces further penalties the minute he steps in the locker room.

Even without the penalties, he was a dirty coach at both Youngstown State and Ohio State. Plus, Ohio State is one of the easiest programs in the country to be successful at, and he was fairly mediocre.

Now, speaking of Bielema, from earlier this year talking about the shady recruiting practices of Urban Meyer:

“I can tell you this,” says Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema. “We at the Big Ten don’t want to be like the SEC—in any way, shape or form.”

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Arkansas will pay him four million a year, nearly doubling his salary. And they will expand their stadium to an 80,000 capacity.

A UW source quoted an influential Arkansas booster as saying, "We're going to steal your head coach, the sky's the limit and we're going to do everything he wants for facilities This place is going to spend more money than anyone ever dreamed of."

Now that this has been made public, Bielema should leave. Badgers need a Wisconsin man coaching them in the Rose Bowl. Not an Arkansas man.

Barry Alvarez has released a statement on Bielema's departure. It begins, "I was very surprised when Bret told me he was taking the offer from Arkansas...."

One of the media reports claims that Bret wanted to coach the Rose Bowl, but that isn't going to happen. I don't remember where I saw that, but speculation is rife in these here intertubes about who will coach them.

Perhaps he can only get his "Bowl Bonus" if he actually coaches in the bowl game? I'll tell ya one thing: Fayetteville ain't Madison:)

My best advice to "coach" Bulimia:

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

My choice for Brent's replacement.

Positives:

1. Badger alumnus.
2. Young, defensive-minded coach, with boundless energy.
3. From Ohio, a very important recruiting area.
4. Rumor has it that Charlie Partridge, from Plantation, Fla, and the main reason for our recent recruiting success there, will join Bielema at Arkansas. Tucker might help make up for that loss.

Negative:

1. Seems highly likely that, if successful at Wisconsin, he would jump at the chance for a head coaching gig in the NFL.

I agree. Let's hope Alvarez can land Brad Pitt as a replacement.

The Badgers will be better off without BB.
