The spelling used on the statue? Which statue? Not the statue at the Capitol.

Take a look, kids: this is the level of accuracy and honesty where Snoqueen lives and breathes. Orwell said that "for a creative writer possession of the 'truth' is less important than emotional sincerity" and that "there are occasions when an 'untrue' belief is more likely to be sincerely held than a 'true' one."

Snoqueen is one such "creative writer". Her beliefs are sincerely held, her emotional sincerity is deeply sincere.

And she is deeply and absolutely mistaken.

I've lived in Madison for all my 50+ years. I have looked at that statue. Sno is mistaken by one letter. It's Heg with one g. Oh the horror!

Holy fucking stupid. Granted, that was the chosen quote, but it was the State Journal.

As pointed put by John Stewart, Poland had guns. France had guns. Did that stop Hitler?

Sheesh. All the Heggs I know use two. These Norwegians, I can't keep up with 'em.

(My own family had at least three spellings, and the town they came from in Norway was spelled still a fourth way. Go figure.)

All this is so important anything else I've ever said on this forum is hereby rendered null and void, and everything Meade has ever said on this forum or any other rules. Also, he gets wizard powers and the Cloak of Hidden Flasks, which counts as both a battle and guardian elixir.

I'll keep on annoying the hell out of him just because I can, but first I've got to find out why the State Historical Society site spells Hegg with the second g.

I had to make a trip today from the far west side to the far'ish east side. I decided to have a look and cruised the inner loop. At around 1:30ish I would say 600ish attendees look about right. Nice hand made signs made all the difference with optics. I particularily liked the one that said "The answer to 1984 is 1776", not quite sure what that gal was angling at. Whatever, it was a tremendous display of the crowds democratic right to protest while suggesting that they may need to insurrect against the the structures that support that right. Looked like a nice enough show, but I do not get the point.

If only they'd get as riled up about the attempts at suppressing the right to vote. Appropos of nothing, there is a Hegg Avenue on the east side of town. A little street that runs between Major Ave and Buckeye Rd.

A nice slideshow here:

Includes Don Pridemore literally wrapping himself in a flag by braving the brisk winds in his American Flag polo shirt. I'm not sure it's patriotic to wear the Flag as clothing, but it's definitely a plea of some kind.

None of you seem to understand. He's not locked in here with you, you're locked in with Meade.

Never said "wanted to". You're projecting again.

But...a guy like Meade would be handy on a desert isle.

As would a girl like Duca.

What say you Jason? Who would be your 3 desert island forons?

Heh. On a related note, I'm guessing that Ducatista's response to the idea of being marooned on an island with bdog and Meade is going to be slightly less enthusiastic than bdog imagines. I could be wrong about that, but we'll see.

Duca wouldn't take long to realize that I'm pretty harmless.

I think I would spent a lot of time listening to her vent in the hopes that it would prevent her from killing Meade.

Unless we really needed the food.

Back to the topic. bdog, are you a Second Amendment absolutist, like DMan (who seems to have dropped out of the conversation), or do you believe rational regulations on firearms are appropriate?
