Make that a double scoop: http://www.ibmadison.com/Blogger/Bring- ... a-Mirilli/

Spoiler alert: It all comes down to Madison Teachers, Incorporated - the teachers union - doing first and foremost what preserves power for Madison Teachers, Incorporated.

I assume he's already begun writing his Pulitzer acceptance speech. I understand they're going to take away the one Woodward and Bernstein won and give it to him--this is that important a story.

Why would they take away Woodward and Bernstein's?

Not so fast. He needs actual facts, not hearsay, innuendo and cockblocking. Pffffft!

Why would they take away Woodward and Bernstein's?

Okay. Woodward said something unflattering about Obama and the sequester - called Obama a cheater or fibber or something to that effect.
That hurt Obama's feelings. Bad. So he said to Woodward, "Woodward, you're gonna be sorry you did that, you little sonuvabitch."
Woodward said, "WTF?"
Next thing you know Blaska has Woodward's Pulitzer, no one has seen the Manskis for several days while copies of the Cap Times keep piling up on their porch, John Nickles calls the cops - missing bullhorn report, and Secretary of State Kerry can't stop talking about how stupid his hair is. In French.

For this theory to work, we need more details on the timeline right?

I mean, it does no good for MTI and John Matthews to recruit Manski without knowing Mertz is also running. Otherwise, Manski would drop out, leaving Mirilli alone on the ballot; not exactly Matthews' and Co.'s preferred outcome.

Though I do think more needs to be said about the union's record of opposing Nichelle Nichols, Ananda Mirilli, Wayne Strong, and James Howard. The common denominator is a little curious, at the least.

Jesus, Blaska is getting even worse at stringing sentences together. "Racism" is a bit of a jump in logic, but he can't even sell it, he just kind of plops it out there.

I guess having a "blog" means we get his turds unedited now?

In cases like this, the proper spelling is "blahg."

Blaska writes:
Send a statement: Vote Sarah Manski for Seat 5 on April 2. Her name is on the ballot. To do so would force the school board to make good on member Marj Passman’s promise to “appoint someone good” in Manski’s place. It would send an indelible message that T.J. Mertz, the remaining candidate on the ballot, should not profit from the establishment’s intrigue at the expense of Ananda Mirilli.

I think this is what I'm leaning towards doing -- the race can't get any more clownish, after all.

At the same time, I don't know if I understand Blaska's logic. Isn't it highly likely that the appointee in that situation would be Mertz? Seems like he would have a pretty fair case. Even if weren't Mertz, does Blaska really believe that the board, with a majority of folks who opposed Madison Prep, would actually pick a supporter of that project or ones like it? Seems like wishful thinking. Throw in that candidate searches haven't exactly been an area in which the board has excelled of late, and yeah...

Jesus Meade - quoting an editorial isn't exactly a scoop. Get outside a little bit and get off the internet for a bit.
