Heritage letter to Republicans on Capitol Hill: Don’t legislate, just scandalize Obama

It is incumbent upon the House of Representatives to conduct oversight hearings on those actions, but it would be imprudent to do anything that shifts the focus from the Obama administration to the ideological differences within the House Republican Conference.

To that end, we urge you to avoid bringing any legislation to the House Floor that could expose or highlight major schisms within the conference.

This guy wants to cut SNAP (food stamps), so you know he's an asshole. And he quotes the Bible so justify his assholeness, so you know he's really an asshole:
Republican Congressman Stephen Fincher of Tennessee, who supports cuts to the program, had his own Bible verse from the Book of Thessalonians to quote back to Vargas: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat,” he said.

The self-righteous Rep. Fincher also said:
This is other people’s money that Washington is appropriating and spending.
We represent the people’s money and we have to be good stewards of that.

I guess he thinks that letting poor people get enough food is just a big luxury.

Now, you're probably thinking, a jerk like that is probably a big hypocrite too. You are so right!
Fincher is no stranger to the “people’s money.” He received a whopping $3.4 million in taxpayer-funded farm subsidies from 1999 to 2011.

Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn (R) only wants disaster assistance for tornado damge if offset cuts are made. He has suggested Medicare and Social Security during past disasters.

With the announced departure of Michele Bachmann from the World's Greatest Legislative Body today, we inaugurate a new semi-regular weekly feature in which we study the possible successor to la Bachmann as Queen Regent of the Crazy People. (Louie Gohmert is, of course, emperor for life).

Right on !
and certainly not facilitating or accommodating fringe religions, it's crazy.

wait, what?

Really? Dole has so much access to Obama that he has keen insight into these things?

Funny, I clicked the link and couldn't find the quote you attribute to Dole in the article. Why quote the link then? Why not state Bob Dole said this at another time? In fact Dole has only two sentences quoted in the whole article.

Here is where Dole is actually quoted in the article.

"I think they ought to put a sign on the national committee doors that says 'closed for repairs' until New Year's Day next year and spend that time going over ideas and positive agendas," Dole said.

I was quoting Hen V. The link was in his quote.

From the same interview with Chris Wallace:
(on camera): What do you think of Barack Obama?

DOLE: He's a great golfer.

(LAUGHTER)

DOLE: Very articulate.

WALLACE: As a president?

DOLE: I think, as a president, he lacks communication skills with his own party, let alone the Republican Party. And he's on the road too much.

I see, you need two other links not from the story that Hen V. linked to to get there. Makes perfect sense.

Couldn't think of anywhere else to put this:
Rand Paul Interview in Wired

He keeps talking like that, there's no way he gets the GOP nomination, but I'll be damned if he hasn't figured out how to sound sane. Something his father never has.

Fox has used Me(gyn) as a foil for a while now. Don't be fooled- she is just as rabid as ANY of those tools. And it works.
