What else ought one to say other than to take note of the incident? Do you expect me to express an opinion on it without any information? I leave that sort of thing up to people like you.

Alright, it's the fourth quarter and none of this shit matters anyway. What matters, apparently, is a short blurb about a police shooting with no real details other than the general location and that a policeman wasn't the one who was shot.

So what can we glean from this might-be-a-story? Well, I think for starters it's clear that we need more guns. And all gun regulations are unconstitutional. And 122 pages of back and forth between gun rights advocates and gun rights supporters isn't nearly enough to flesh out the details.

Guns, they rule. Anyone who says they don't is a pussy. And this story about a shooting on Hammersley Road proves it. Or it will, after I see some facts about the shooting.

This is a forum, so say something. If you want to post articles with no comment, then go to reddit.com. We don't need this amateur trolling when there are enough professionals about.

Not to insult your profession, or professionalism, but you might find it instructive to look up the meaning of the word "trolling."

Please. We're trying to discuss the officer involved fatal shooting.

About which we have next to no information, so there's nothing to discuss.

I did read the officers involved thought the knive wielder had just cut his wife. That turned out to be untrue.

Bit more info

It sounds like suicide by cop. It will be interesting to see who made the initial 911 call reporting the domestic dispute and stabbing.

So if they shot him because they thought he stabbed his wife doesn't that make the shooting punitive rather than anything else? (because shooting him because they thought he might kill himself seems a little counter productive)

Yes I did read the link- it said he moved toward the officers, it did not say he lunged at the officers or moved toward them in a threatening manner or waved the knife at them or anything that sounds threatening.

Inside 20 feet a knife is considered a deadly threat, so if he was moving at officers and failing to follow a reasonable request to drop his weapon and stop, then he was acting in a threatening manner.

It's still early in the investigation, and they are probably still compiling officer and witness statements, so I'd be shocked to see the word "threatening" being used in a news or police report yet.
