Thirteen bucks. Wow.

Postby Steve Vokers » Thu Oct 10, 2013 6:52 pm

So Walker and the Repub leaders of the legislature were so giddy they were soiling themselves over cutting property taxes an average of $13 a piece? Really?

The two-year proposal would lower the December tax bill on the median-valued home by an additional $13 over current estimates, to $2,925. Next year, taxes under Walker's plan would rise modestly so that over two years they would be an estimated $11 more than they are now on the typical home.

Walker reduced state aid to public education by nearly a billion bucks when he first took office. Now he wants to give school districts a hundred million solely for property tax relief. Nothing more for the schools themselves. And poor districts will get more than rich districts. Madisonians will be lucky to get a pizza's worth.

Well, I for one plan to savor my one piece of pepperoni with a glob of oily mozzarella on a sliver of burnt thin crust.

Thanks, Scott!

Well an increase in long term debt by the State will cover this short term bribe to low information voters who own real property. Mary Burke should eat this putz for lunch.

Going to donate my $13 to the democratic party.

It's also not a cut at all it's a not-increase. He was going to have to raise property taxes but now he is not. Whoopdee do. Completely political move. Look for it in the next WMC ad which will be running for the next 12 months.

That's a great idea! In fact, I just checked my porn-and-political email account to see if there were already a campaign underway. Not yet, but there should be.

Walker is trying to paint himself as Santa Claus now that he knows with certainty he will face a serious challenger. But like everything else he has done in his 20+ year career of suckling off the public teet it does nothing to improve the lives of his constituents and is only intended to make Scott Walker look better. Self serving narcissistic bastid.

With my $13 windfall I may choose to buy 2 gal of organic skim milk. The cheap pizza might put me over my daily cholesterol limit.

Initially I thought this move 'threatening' and meant to really push the narrative around.
That was the wrong first impression.
I admit that I am susceptible to propaganda,
Now I see this move as feeble.
As feeble as many roads and bridges in our state,
Whose structures have been left unattended for structural efforts to defund them.
We shall see how long it takes for a majority to realize how stability and safety has been wrestled from their...

All of us Wisconsinites sick of Scooters gimmicks should give a $13 contribution to the Democratic gubernatorial candidate of their choice, be that Mary Burke, Kathleen Vinehout or another.

Wanker should pay off the $558 million in loans he took out in 2011 and 2012 instead of deferring the payments on them past the fiscal year so he can pretend there's a surplus that in reality never existed.

Wanker also deferred even more of the State's fiscal obligations into the future so he could make the bogus claim of a surplus now.

MADISON - “The State is spending less.” “This budget took a deficit and turned it into a surplus.” “Wisconsin has paid off its debt.” Which of these are true statements regarding the new state budget?

The answer is NONE of the above.

... The third myth says the state eliminated the debt. This is false. In fact, state debt reaches record levels in the 2013-15 budget.

... In the 2011-13 legislative session, Governor Walker did not pay an even larger amount of debt payments coming due. Because debt payments were not made more money goes to pay off debt in this budget than ever before.

... As a result state debt reaches an all-time high of $14.7 billion
