Coach Anderson failed us

Postby Shorty » Sat Nov 16, 2013 5:21 pm

I see the Bielema haters are gloating about his bad season at Arkansas: http://www.thedailypage.com/isthmus/art ... icle=41399

Bielema was driven out of town because he didn't win a Rose Bowl. But he won 3 big 10 championships and made it to 3 Rose Bowls.

Now Andreson is the coach and they won't even win the big 10 and or make it to a Rose Bowl. Doesn't that mean Bielema is better than Anderson? Anderson should be fired, right? We need to keep hiring a new coach until UW wins a Rose Bowl again. Nothing else is acceptable. I don't understand the Beilema haters. They expect too much.

Incorrect, as he quit before the third Bose Bowl. Thus much of the hatred. Now back up your assertion that he was "driven out of town."

He can't, because it's simply not true. The decision was Bielema's and Bielema's alone, and came as a complete surprise to Barry Alvarez.

No kidding, especially since the only reason the Badgers made it to the Rose Bowl last year was that Ohio State was ineligible. Unless Shorty thinks Bielema deserves credit for OSU not being eligible?

Yes he quit, because so many fans disliked him for losing Rose Bowls and was afraid he would get fired. I already supported my assertion with this:

Time to gloat over Bret Bielema and the Razorbacks
http://www.thedailypage.com/isthmus/art ... icle=41399
"Enjoy the sweet schadenfreude, Badgers fans. Year one of the Bret Bielema era is a smoking disaster across the river in Razorback land."

And here are more examples:

yes!!! Arkansas to hire Bret Bielema

"Him and his tattoo can take a hike as soon as he loses another Rose Bowl...Can we put together a flash mob of people carrying cardboard boxes to help him move out?....like right now?" -Dan Motor

"I couldn't be happier. He has a douche face rivaled only by Jay Cutler. Kind of a huge stab in the back to old Barry but I think the Badgers will be better off." - fisticuffs.

"Not too surprised. I asked my brother in law over Thanksgiving if he thought Bilema would stay or go. He was surprised that it was even a question he could leave. Pfffft, I say to him now. 2 Rose bowl losses and a mediocre year so far." -Stebben84

"My best advice to "coach" Bulimia: Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out." -Doppel

"he Badgers will be better off without BB." -scratch.

Funny how those posts are all AFTER he walked away from the team. He didn't leave because of us Beliema haters. He left for a bigger job with a bigger paycheck. he did so after saying he didn't have that interview. Brett Beliema was in now way driven out of town. His own ambitions did the driving. Coach Anderson personally called every player on his roster when he accepted the UW gig.

The Bielema hatred didn't arrive suddenly because he walked away from the team. It was already there as anyone can tell from the quotes and the title "yes!!! Arkansas to hire Bret Bielema" instead of "Darn!!! Our beloved Bret Bielema leaves for more pay".

Most fans preferred having Alvarez coach the third Rose Bowl. You think Bielema would have been welcome to stay here? I don't.

I'm not saying people loved the guy. I didn't but we also didn't fire him. Having Barry on the sidelines for a Rose Bowl was cool under any circumstances. I think the guy is a douchebag. this comes mostly from seeing him out on the town, wasted, with an entourage of questionably aged girls. Also the human wall that was set up at The Dry Bean while Brett was yacking in the bathroom. He also didn't do all that well against good opponents and the Badgers played down to quite a few bad ones.

Anderson has done well with Beliema's recruits all while dealing with a new Defense and a ton of new coaches. The team played tough against OSU and really only had the one let down at ASU where they got some help from the refs. Plus I don't see him out wasted hanging on 18-year-olds.

Wow, I didn't realize your boy was such a delicate little flower. You can't possibly believe that Bielema was afraid of getting fired. He was Alvarez' handpicked successor, who ignored the protocol of posting a job opening before filling it. Barry was completely shocked when Bielema informed him that he was leaving for Arkansas. But, please, don't let the facts get in your way.

Maybe the real reason Bielema left was that the Dry Bean closed.

Of course he wasn't welcome. He quit his job and expected to keep the perk of coaching the Rose Bowl?

When CEO and CFOs of companies leave for another job, and let the Board of Directors know, they are escorted to their office to collect their personal belongings and then escorted off the property. To let Bielema stay after quitting for another job is ridiculous.

We didn't keep him from coaching in the Rose Bowl. He hopped on a plane immediately. doubt we would have kept him on but he made that decision for Barry.

Barry said in an interview that Bielema asked to coach the Rose Bowl as his last official "Event" with his team. Barry responded something to the effect that you are now the coach of Arkansas you might want to go and meet your new team.
