Sonic Press release/Slow Melting Ice?

Postby LindaF » Fri Oct 10, 2008 10:13 am

Here's the official announcement.
I'm curious about the "slow-melting ice" they use in the drinks.

Maybe they have one of these:

Image

Simple to operate and sturdily built, these machines produce crystal clear ice cubes time after time, the Unique spray system minimizes scaling and produces slow melting ice cubes. The machines designed to withstand the inevitable abuse of a busy bar environment.

I'm sure there's science behind it. Let's just hope there's no nanobots involved.

Ah, but Ice-Nine is far too dangerous - a sip of the drink with a slip of the tongue and *Flash!* the consumer is frozen as well.
That is why Ice-4 was developed. From Archer Daniels Midland.

The Cold, Hard Data of Soda Ice

"Depending on whom you ask, either ice-fiends are suckers who pay for frozen water or ice-avoiders are cheapskates with a perverse attachment to warm fountain syrup. To settle this once and for all, we went to a local cineplex and bought three Cokes with varying amounts of cubes at 4 smackaroos each. Then we broke out our thermometers and measuring cups. The cold, hard data says it all."
