Tammy is meat, Tommy is Tofu

Postby bdog » Tue Sep 18, 2012 8:46 pm

I'm sure most of you will agree with me.

What is her real plan? Do she and K. Falk have something in the works?

Tommy's been awfully quiet...

Hope it's well placed confidence, but worrying.

As for Tammy, if she loses I would think she would at the least get the Russ Feingold law prof offer. Maybe a sacrificial lamb run for gov in '14?

So...Tommy is tofu?

Tammy's "real plan" is to win her election. And what does Kathleen Falk have to do with anything?

You might want to get checked for carbon monoxide poisoning, since your post suggests your brain is not getting enough oxygen.

I'll wait to see some independent polls before crowing about any edge Tammy has gained, but even the Tommy campaign seems to be admitting that they're losing ground.

Thompson cites 'broke campaign' as reason for dip in recent polls

I find it hard to believe that Tommy is having troubles getting funding for this Senate race. It's an open seat, he's a favorite to win and the Democratic majority in the Senate is razor thin. I would think that Republicans are treating this as one of the most important races in the country. As things sit now, a lagging Romney may actually sink Tommy as well.

So what's up with the Tammy bounce? I'll readily admit I didn't give her much of a shot at winning this one, but she's certainly making it respectable.

Is that a thought or an inebriated burp? K. Falk? What? You're thinking Tammy would resign if elected?

(some of our readership is too young to appreciate this reference)

I can't figure out if Tommy's quit advertising and making appearances because he thinks he's won and to expose himself only invites disaster, or because he's really out of money. It doesn't make sense that he can't pull in donations from the party and its regular backers for such a critical seat.

State Journal seems to think lots of money is still coming in, though they don't specify to whom.

Go Tammy. She's running a fine campaign. I think all her groundwork in rural parts of the state is paying off -- she presents herself well.

I don't know about rural voters, but I hope that Democrats learned their lesson in the recall election that more money needs to be spent in the Fox Valley. For all of the ad buys in the Madison market, which is a slam dunk for Baldwin, she needs more presence in Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Outagamie and Brown counties. I think Democrats make the mistake of believing that Milwaukee and Madison voters can overrule the rest of the State, but the Fox Valley is a major population center as well, filled with blue collar union workers who tend to be "lunch pail Republicans".

We ought to be able to change that.

Wow, Dave. I like those numbers, but I'm having a bit of troubles trusting them.

Tammy up 9, Obama up 14???

I don't know, man. That's more than a swing. It's more than an outlier too. I think we need a second round of polling.

Marquette has actually been pretty good at polling if I'm not mistaken. I find these numbers a bit crazy, but also encouraging. Even if it's off by 5 or 6 percentage points, that's a HUGE swing her way.
