Scoops for the week of Nov. 2-9

Last summer I wrote a feature about Kiki Schueler, one of the most enthusiastic live-music fans in the city. The story ventured into Kiki's House of Righteous Music, the music venue she's created in the basement of her east-side home. Turns out more big names are taking an interest in playing there. On Wednesday, Nov. 7, Schueler will host Immaculate Machine, the indie band featuring Kathryn Calder of the New Pornographers. The biography of AC/DC, Let There Be Rock, written by Madison rock journalist Susan Masino, became available in paperback Nov. 1. The book has already been translated into German, Spanish and Czech (imagine the thrill of hearing "Big Balls" in Czech) and can be ordered at
