Calendar for May 2008: May dates

Dinosaur crossing: More than a dozen animatronics dinosaurs will invade the Alliant Energy Center Arena May 7-11 when "Walking With Dinosaurs - The Live Experience" is unleashed. With $20 million behind it, expect to be wowed by full-sized Tyrannosaurus rex, Stegosaurus and Brachiosaurus (which stands 36 feet tall and measures 56 feet long). WWD traces dino evolution, including how carnivores came to walk on two legs and how herbivores fended off their more agile predators. 608-255-4646.

Circus act: Madison celebrates the big top at the Chazen Museum of Art, 800 University Ave., through June 29, with Judy Onofrio's life-size sculptures of circus performers and animals, and Harry A. Atwell's black-and-white photographs from his 40 years traveling with Ringling Bros. Circus. May 10 will be a special family Circus Day, with performances by the Wheeling Dervishes unicycle act, Cycropia Aerial Dance, Truly Remarkable Loon and illusionist Tristan Christ. Kids also will be able to try out the trapeze, walk on a tight wire, juggle, hula-hoop and learn pocket magic. Details:

Dells alert: Automotion 2008 is a giant classic car show at Noah's Ark Waterpark, 1410 Wisconsin Dells Parkway, May 17-18. And it's not just about the cars - face-painting, kids' scavenger hunt, fire-truck bucket rides and free showings at Noah's Ark's 4-D Dive-In Theater should keep everybody interested. For schedule:
