East rail corridor Up, TomoTherapy Down

UP: East rail corridor. The University Research Park will lease 6,000 square feet of space in the former Marquip factory building on East Washington Avenue. The space will be used as an incubator for high-tech entrepreneurs. This is the first time the UW has invested in Madison's near east side; city officials hope the move will spark further economic development in the industrial neighborhood.

DOWN: TomoTherapy. The Madison tech company, which had a triumphant entry into the stock market in 2007, sees its shares plunge to a record low of $4.94 last week. The stock's 52-week high was $26.80. The company has reported a $6.9 million net loss for its second quarter and admitted losing customers to competitors.
