So, Bob D'Angelo is concerned about the health and growth of the Overture Center ("Making the Case for Overture," 11/21/08), and has ideas about how to up its revenues through the tax base. How nice. Apparently, he wasn't concerned enough about Overture while he was employed as its director to refrain from doing side businesses out the back door and asking city employees to do tasks for his side businesses while on city time.
For those little discretionary lapses, he's now in prison, from which he feels the need to promote Overture's cause and is egocentric enough to assume his suggestions will bear weight. That sudden rush of "Huh?" is a collective double-take by Madison citizens. Hey, Bob: How much did it cost the taxpayers to prosecute you?
