Forever the Sickest Kids soldier on after police incident
Philadelphia story

The Dallas power-pop band Forever the Sickest Kids pack stage energy like they've just slammed a few Red Bulls. They've got a reason to be excited. Three months after recording their first song in 2007, they were signed to Universal Motown and played the Warped Tour.

Two weeks ago the happy-go-lucky sextet got caught up in a dark incident. After a show in Philadelphia, the group were one of several Bamboozle Roadshow bands confronted by police, initially for parking violations. The confrontation got heated, and police used force that left Trevor Fair of We the Kings beaten and bloody. The incident is being investigated.

I caught up with Forever the Sickest Kids guitarist Marc Stewart last week.

Forever the Sickest Kids became high profile very fast. Was it too fast?
I like it. It's been a roller-coaster ride since it began. I think the way we have grown was best for all six of us and our lifestyles. We don't like to sit around and wait.

If you weren't touring and making music with FTSK, what would you be doing?
Well, I was going to college to get a degree in advertising and PR. I'm not sure what I would do. I would probably get a job somewhere with that and then go back and try to get my master's and take it from there. It was always my goal to have a master's in at least something.

How has the Philadelphia police incident affected the rest of thetour?
Luckily, after that happened, the tour had a day off. So I think all the bands and crew were able to pull themselves together and get back to work. I think it brought a lot of us on the tour closer to each other.

Why should Madisonians come see your show?
Everyone needs to check out the show to have a good time and relax. After all, Bamboozle named us most energetic and most likely to get lost on tour!
