Didn't like the image

The sculpture - two goats, full photo, very unnecessary ("Goats With Erect Human Penises," 4/16/10). Who in the world needs to see that? It ruined my interest in reading until I read about the ant man (cover story, same issue), which helped erase the sickening image of the aroused goats. For gosh sake, think of the child who might see it, try explaining it to your kids, any kids, your grandma....

Fran Heinowski

Didn't read the article

In his article about Ann Althouse ("The Ego Has Landed," 4/23/10), Jack Craver mentions that Ms. Althouse declined being interviewed because she didn't want to be bored. I also don't want to be bored, which is why I didn't make it past paragraph five.

If you are going to turn dead trees into public knowledge, maybe you shouldn't delegate your cover stories to college students who don't like local bloggers.

Erik Nielsen

After reading [some of] the Althouse article, I was vividly reminded of the efficacy of Virgil's advice to Dante when that poet got a little too interested in the "conversation" between Sinon the Greek and Master Adam in the Eighth Circle of hell: To want to hear such things is base.
