UP: UW-Madison. The state's flagship university rates exceptionally well in a new survey by U.S. News & World Report on which colleges produce the most Fortune 500 CEOs. The UW awarded degrees to 17 of the CEOs, behind only Harvard, Columbia and Penn.
DOWN: 4-year-olds. State Sen. Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) proposes axing 4-K programs in Madison because, well, education costs money. "We have a very difficult budget here," Grothman tells the Wisconsin State Journal. "Some of it is going to have to be solved by saying some of these massive expansions of government in the last 10 years cannot stand." And really, isn't it time these freeloading rugrats started pulling their own weight?
